Patient Participation Group (PPG) Network meeting in action at Churchdown Community Centre. Six tables of PPG members discussing how they work together. There are, on average, six PPG members on each table and it is a mix of males and females.

The Gloucestershire Patient Participation Group (PPG) Network is organised by NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB). It provides a space for PPG members to share their experiences and learn from each other, to continue to fulfil an effective role in their practice. It enables PPGs to share their views with the ICB, to shape and influence its work.

NHS Gloucestershire ICB involves PPG members in engagement work and provides support to PPGs on an individual basis. In addition, NHS Gloucestershire ICB hosts a bi-monthly network meeting. PPG members can attend in person, or online using MS Teams.

In the short film below, representatives from PPGs around Gloucestershire describe how they became involved in the PPG at their practice, and share their views on some of the benefits such involvement brings:

The GP Patient Survey is sent out to over two million people registered with GP practices in England. The results show how people feel about their GP practice. People also provide feedback about NHS dentists and community pharmacists using the survey. The answers received help the NHS to improve local health services for people like you and your family.

This is the eighteenth year that the survey has been carried out in England.

    Why the survey matters

    • It’s good for patients: Patients have the chance to share their experience of their GP practice
    • It’s good for practices: GP practices can use the results to improve patient experience
    • It’s reliable: Sound data on every GP practice in the country is collected

2024 results were published on 11 July 2024. You can access the results here.
